A quiet morning led to a much busier afternoon in the eastern spruce lumber market yesterday. It seemed that the morning was needed to review and contemplate, leaving the afternoon to react. Prices and availabilities ranged over a variety of products from mill to mill and distributor to distributor, with some notable differences among them. There was little commonality, making the decision process more complicated. There was also confusion and uncertainty added to the mix to make things even more interesting.
