Canadian rail workers went back to work last Friday after Minister of Labor Steven MacKinnon directed the Canada Industrial Relations Board ‘to extend the term of the current collective agreements until new agreements have been signed. Activity was quieter as a result to end the week in the eastern spruce lumber market. The mills regrouped to see what they could offer and when they could deliver. Despite the buzz over the rail strike, prices continued to move higher simply due to ongoing tight supply and steady demand.
