It was a quieter start to the week in the eastern spruce lumber market yesterday. Demand was lite and less than expectations. The lack of product available from the mills also impacted activity and limited the number of orders transacted on the day. Higher asking prices had buyers checking and re checking their sources. There were no rail delays observed from the short strike by Canadian rail workers last week. The problem for many of the mills was having the production to load the equipment available.
