Bill's Corner- An Eastern Spruce Perspective

Better demand in the eastern spruce lumber market yesterday increased activity and the number of orders transacted. There was more interest in what the mills had to offer and what they could sell. Consistency of prices on various items from them also helped buyers be more confident in making purchases. Supply remained tight from the eastern mills especially in 2x6 and the wider widths as production problems persist. The high cost of logs compared to current market returns is the major reason.
