Bill's Corner- An Eastern Spruce Perspective

Strong demand sparked heavy activity to start the day in the eastern spruce lumber market yesterday. News of western powerhouse Canfor shutting down two mills by year’s end had buyers scurrying to cover current and impending needs. Granted the closures are not immediate, but overall concern is growing on the continuing trend of having less and less supply in the future. Demand has been steady but not prolific. If this were to change, the impact on prices would be dramatic. Buckle up baby, we could be in for a ride!
