It was a hectic and busy start to the eastern spruce lumber market yesterday, but activity and the rate of transactions waned as the day progressed. Demand was strong but the lack of mill options on quotes and the disparity of prices in the marketplace on various items had clients checking several sources. Clients took extra time to digest and contemplate what options were available before making purchases. There was also disbelief that prices had appreciated as much as some were asking.
