Demand and activity eased in the eastern spruce lumber market yesterday. It seemed clients had enough product for the moment. They paused to assess what might be needed and reflect on the market. They found very little had changed. Prices were stable. The mills had basically the same things for sale, struggling to sell them with very little price differences among them. They also saw continued tight supply on anything wider than 2x4. The sense of urgency seen earlier in the week was not as prevalent.
