There was very good demand and activity to end last week in the eastern spruce lumber market, better than some expectations. Orders were generated from both the reloads and the mills. Some mills were more price conscious of the market and sold based on published numbers rather than trying to get more. There was better interest in 2x4, which was a departure than what it has been for some time. Low production of the other widths has kept supply lean, sales robust and prices appreciating on them.
