Demand strengthened yesterday in the eastern spruce lumber market, resulting in more orders being transacted than on Monday. Interest grew on a variety of products. Supply remained tight with the eastern mills, although the availability of 2x4 from most kept prices sluggish on it. The same could not be said for the other widths which continued to be difficult to source with increasing prices seen among the mills. Alternative species also had their impact and were a difference maker in several instances.
