Although activity and business trailed off last Friday, it was a very busy week for many in the eastern spruce lumber market. There was leftover demand from clients looking for any lesser expensive items that were available. The number of orders transacted for the week was the best the mills and distributors had seen in several weeks. Tight supply kept traders continually searching for material to cover the many needs seen from their clients. Besides selling, distributors tried filling the voids that cropped up in their inventories.
