Strong demand increased activity in the eastern spruce lumber market yesterday. The high number of orders transacted kept prices firm if not push some items higher. Busy retailers and manufacturers kept traders continually searching for material to cover the many quotes and inquiries presented throughout the day. There was stronger interest in 2x4 as it was one of the few items that most eastern mills had, but less availability was seen with prices more quickly appreciating on it.
