The mills were busy on Friday to end last week in the eastern spruce lumber market. Client demand was not as robust as in the previous days of the week but that did not deter distributors getting more involved and wanting to secure product. Many of the mills though were off the market which made for slim pickings. Regardless, it made for strong activity as buyers searched for what was available from them. Published prices were higher on Friday, many items by double digits, helping to spur the increased activity.
