The eastern spruce lumber market was again busy yesterday. Demand was strong, activity was brisk. Prices moved higher on many items as demand continued to outpace supply. The lack of product from the mills though had its impact in the market by making it difficult for traders to put together back-to-back business with them. Retailers leaned heavily on distributor inventories to pick up the slack, which they did with the variety of products they had and the quicker deliveries they could do.
