There was a quieter tone in the eastern spruce lumber market yesterday. Demand was weak, activity was lite, although retailers continued to be relatively busy. Prices were flat. The mills had a few additional items for sale, but they seemed under little pressure to sell them. There were open to small counters with the key word being small. The mills could deliver some items next week, but most shipments were for the week after, the last full week before the Hanukkah and Christmas Holidays come into play.
