The eastern spruce lumber market remained very active yesterday. Clients were motivated to find and secure product as uncertainty of the market and prices consumed mindsets. For many it was important to have lumber needs covered for the near term and to wait and see what transpires in the long term. The Canadian mills had a similar attitude. They worked to sell what they had on the ground and to get it shipped before the new administration takes office. The concern of potentially higher tariffs weighed heavily on many.
