Bill's Corner- An Eastern Spruce Perspective

Demand and activity eased last Friday after a busier week in the eastern spruce lumber market. Uncertainty of additional tariffs being imposed on imported Canadian lumber kept orders away from the Canadian mills. Most of them kept to selling what they had on the ground and that could ship within a week. They did not want to take orders further out until decisions or direction by the incoming administration on additional tariffs are known. Prices drifted sideways although some varied on items that were in tight supply.
