After a hectic start to the eastern spruce lumber market yesterday morning, demand eased, and activity slowed. Uncertainty reigned as to what to do, what to quote and which suppliers could be depended on. Distributors were the sure bet along with the U.S. mills, but product availabilities were mixed with prices firmer than expectations. Winter weather also had its hand in influencing activity.
