Bill's Corner- An Eastern Spruce Perspective

Speculation surrounding whether tariffs would be implemented on lumber exports handcuffed the Canadian mills from selling last Friday in the eastern spruce lumber market. Despite this, orders garnered were strong by those that had stateside inventories or mills willing to sell regardless. Clients have been busy, and demand was evident in many parts of the country as extreme weather returned to normalcy. Overall inventories seemed lighter than normal because of the uncertainty over tariffs and has held many from carrying more.
