Bill's Corner- An Eastern Spruce Perspective

Demand remained steady last Friday to end a solid week of activity and orders in the eastern spruce lumber market. The mills were more involved throughout the week following a thirty-day reprieve on tariffs being imposed on Canadian lumber exports. There were pockets of inventories the mills keyed on to sell but there were also several items they lagged production of and were tight in supply. Buyer confidence grew as clients looked to bolster lean inventories. Prices on most items were unchanged.
