Strong demand bolstered activity in the eastern spruce lumber market yesterday. The Canadian mills benefitted considerably with the competitively priced items they had available. Many reached their expected allotment of equipment available to get product across the border before a potential tariff takes effect on March 1st. Some retailers confidently bought inventory with the opportunities presented from them. Prices consequently moved higher on several items. Many mill order files pushed into late February and early March.
