Bill's Corner- An Eastern Spruce Perspective

A lack of mill offerings in the eastern spruce lumber market thwarted efforts on putting orders together last Friday. Many Canadian mills were quoting with a caveat of adding any tariff implemented to orders that crossed the border after March 1st. This kept traders focused on distributors with stateside inventories to do business with. Prices firmed on several items especially stud products. Low grade items were also harder to source as the Canadian mills focused on selling the higher grades instead of to get across the border in time.
