Demand and activity were lackluster in the eastern spruce lumber market yesterday. Sales were light. Less available supply to trade with, especially from the Canadian mills, had its effect in the market. With fewer sources to go to, clients were not as confident or as determined to buy. The uncertainty of what will happen on tariffs also played on mindsets. Another defining factor has been the cold wintry weather many have experienced over the last few weeks, slowing activity on several levels.
