Rumors of another 30-day delay on the implementation of tariffs on Canadian exports fizzled as the administration confirmed yesterday that the tariffs would move forward this coming weekend. The news came late in the day and had little impact on the eastern spruce lumber market. Demand and activity were steady throughout the day but the lack of offerings from the mills did inhibit transactions. Several mills were off the market or quoting with tariffs being passed on. Options for clients were fewer and, in many cases, pricier.
