Late yesterday a delay was given on the implementation of the 25% tariff concerning Canadian lumber exports until April 2nd. Prior to the announcement activity was brisk in the eastern spruce lumber market as clients reluctantly came back to the market to cover essential needs. Prices were higher on all spruce items in varying degrees. U.S. mills were more conservative in their approach to raising prices while the Canadian mills were more aggressive in adding in the tariff. This will certainly change today. Stay Tuned!
