Bill's Corner- An Eastern Spruce Perspective

Uncertainty surrounding a tariff on Canadian lumber exports continued to impact activity and buying decisions in the eastern spruce lumber market yesterday. Some Canadian mills sold without hesitation and with no tariff applicable while others opted to applying a tariff if in place at the time of shipment. Regardless of selling philosophy or if the mill was U.S. or Canadian, there was not an abundance of product being shown in the market from them to buy. Distributors with inventory held sway with many clients instead.
