The eastern spruce lumber market was busy yesterday yet also frustrating. Strong demand kept many traders on their toes sourcing product but the lack of supply available from the mills made selling difficult. The tariff on Canadian lumber exports due to be implemented on April 2nd limited what the mills could offer and where they could deliver to. Securing equipment on getting product across the border prior to was the key. Those with the luxury of selling from distribution inventories fared much better selling.
