Bill's Corner- An Eastern Spruce Perspective

There was no shortage of demand to start the week yesterday in the eastern spruce lumber market. Traders had a productive day, generating several orders especially with the aid of stateside inventories. Clients with needs bought. Those with adequate inventories waited. Uncertainty of what will happen with a tariff on Canadian lumber exports slated to begin April 2nd caused hesitation for some but distracted many. Most Canadian mills quoted product with a tariff applicable, but some did not, enhancing their sales.
