Bill's Corner- An Eastern Spruce Perspective

Demand and activity were lighter last Friday to close out a solid week of business in the eastern spruce lumber market. The mills, traders and clients were anxious for April 2nd and hopefully a resolution on whether there will be a tariff on Canadian lumber exports or not. Many kept future buying plans on hold awaiting the outcome. Distributors were the dominant source for many retailers filling in needs. Spruce prices were relatively unchanged yet there was more aggressiveness observed in price quotes on various occasions.
