Bill's Corner- An Eastern Spruce Perspective

Demand and activity were steady to start the new week in the eastern spruce lumber market yesterday. Distributors continued to be the dominant source for clients on the orders transacted throughout the day. There was also no indication on whether a tariff on Canadian lumber exports would be implemented starting April 2nd. This propagated uncertainty about the direction of prices and caused hesitation to moving forward with purchases. Will supply at the mills out-weigh pent up demand or will the opposite play into the market?
