Search and discovery were the main activities for most participants in the eastern spruce lumber market yesterday. Transactions were down on the day compared to recent days. With no known definitive tariff on Canadian lumber imports, Canadian mills came back on the market with various items to sell. Clients were also very involved to see what needed items could be found at. Much of the activity came down to a wait and see attitude with some buying in between. It will be up to the laws of supply and demand to dictate the direction of prices and the market.
