Activity was mixed to start the week in the eastern spruce lumber market yesterday. Demand was evident but orders transacted were on the lighter side. The mills tried to weed through the confusion and uncertainty in the market to get an idea of where prices were. They took firms on what they had more than one of to get started. Traders were aggressive on some quotes yet unsure with others. Distributors focused on their inventories and where they could get business at, not necessarily where published numbers were.
