Demand eased considerably in the eastern spruce lumber market yesterday slowing the flow of orders to both the mills and distributors. The hectic pace of activity seen the day prior had lost its luster. Prices had adjusted lower but varied among the mills and competitive wholesalers causing hesitation and continued buying for future needs. The availability of product was also mixed among the mills with some items now unavailable or priced higher than thought and seen a few days ago.
