Bill's Corner- An Eastern Spruce Perspective

Prices struggled to find levels of consistency in the eastern spruce lumber market yesterday. They ranged over a wide spectrum, with many of the lower numbers very difficult to substantiate especially with the mills. Firm offers were the rule of the day. The mills rebuffed the larger counters but also fell short of selling their daily allotments. Clients held off buying as much as they could, waiting for prices to reestablish themselves. Demand and activity have been ok in the market but well short of expectations.
