There was steady demand and activity yesterday morning in the eastern spruce lumber market, but there was a letup of both in the afternoon. Many clients continued to be unsure of what to think or how to proceed with the market. Lower prices by the mills invited even cheaper numbers being dished out by hungry wholesalers seeding more doubt. Clients are busy but seem to have adequate inventories to get by. Those with inventory were stressed and those with little were anxious. Both were nervous and uncertain.
