Bill's Corner- An Eastern Spruce Perspective

Demand was mixed in the eastern spruce lumber market yesterday. There was some buying done but there were noticeable inquiries checking prices relative to where they were last week. There were orders to the mills but more to distributors that leveraged their inventories to garner sales. The mills were selective on what they could ship and sell. Distributors had a diversified basket of goods to work with. The Canadian market has been busier of late allowing the mills an option of getting a better return on some items compared to the U.S. market.
