Bill's Corner- An Eastern Spruce Perspective

It was a slower start to the week and new month in the eastern spruce lumber market yesterday. Activity did pick up in the afternoon as traders got a sense of what the mills had to offer, and client demand filtered into the market. The mills had an array of products to sell but there were few consistencies among them of what they had, although there were pockets of inventories they were promoting. Prices were firmer but lacked support. Attention turned to distributors as the source to cover many of the current needs seen.
