Bill's Corner- An Eastern Spruce Perspective

Reactions to the news of Canadian lumber producer Arbec’s closure of their sawmills and forest operations starting today were mixed last Friday in the eastern spruce lumber market. Clients bought fluid and more volitive inventory items at current prices confident that downside risk was minimal. They stopped short of chasing other items feeling they can get them quickly from distributors and other sources without having to pay much more for them. Others took time with the news and the potential impact it could have on the market.
