Clients were more confident yesterday to buying product in the eastern spruce lumber market. Monday’s activity of checking prices and availability turned into putting orders together on Tuesday. The mills though were not as flexible with their pricing as might have been perceived. There was also not as much available from them as the day progressed. Mill shipments in many cases shifted from next week to the week after. There was a growing reliance on distributors to cover needs. The day ended with a more positive tone to the market.
