Bill's Corner- An Eastern Spruce Perspective

Although there were fewer transactions in the eastern spruce lumber market last Friday, demand and activity were noticeably better throughout much of the week than they have been. There was growing concern centered around the upcoming increase in the AD and CVD duties later in July affecting all Canadian mills. This will coincide with their annual mill summer shutdowns slated to begin then. The futures market has been recently trading at a healthy premium to cash. Prices have seen little movement over the last several weeks. Are there changes soon to come in the market?
