Demand and activity eased to end last week in the eastern spruce lumber market. Last minute fill in and shoring up inventories kept those involved busy. Sourcing product from the mills though was dicey as many of them lacked product or were off the market. With fewer options to choose from, buyers backed away from the market, anticipating better choices and options would materialize in the new week. Prices were basically unchanged, but some items were firmer if not slightly higher by week’s end.
