Bill's Corner- An Eastern Spruce Perspective

Traders were busy sourcing demand in the eastern spruce lumber market yesterday. Getting orders fell short of expectations though. Hesitation and uncertainty kept some buying at bay. The mills were able to care for some of the needs looked for but often fell short on the variety of products needed. Clients turned to distributors having more options and often being competitively priced with the mills if not better. Blistering heat over a wide part of the country also played a role in keeping activity in check.
