Activity eased to cap off last week in the eastern spruce lumber market. There was demand but a lack of supply from the mills influenced buyers to wait until the new week and fresh mill offerings to rekindle interest. Higher asking prices on what was available also helped to deter putting orders together, especially on all lengths of 2x4. Other widths were relatively unchanged in price. Canadian mills shipments will be challenged this week with Canada day tomorrow and our Fourth of July this Friday.
