Bill's Corner- An Eastern Spruce Perspective

Last Thursday was an active day to end the work shortened week in the eastern spruce lumber market. Fill in from various clients kept working traders busy most of the day. Higher asking prices had clients checking as many sources as possible before making any potential purchases. The mills did not run out of things to sell but what they had was selective. Shipments from many of them are two weeks with few exceptions. Deliveries are also bumping up against their summer shutdowns later this month, limiting what they can deliver prior.
