The eastern spruce lumber market saw a mix bag of emotion and activity yesterday. There was confusion and uncertainty as to how the upcoming higher duties on Canadian lumber exports will impact the market. There was anxiety with the lack of supply from the mills and many of them not wanting to quote product for delivery in August. There was also solid demand in the market leading to a string of orders keeping prices firm if not higher on some items. Success came to those that had the confidence and certainty of product behind them.
