Activity was quieter in the eastern spruce lumber market yesterday. Demand was lite. There was little to ignite or influence clients to buy. Traders depended heavily on reload inventories for the bulk of their orders. The eastern Canadian mills had very few items to sell. Production is down the next 2-3 weeks at many of them for their annual summer shutdowns. The items they had available to sell when they return in early August were at inflated prices due to the upcoming increase in the anti-dumping duty.
