Bill's Corner- An Eastern Spruce Perspective

There was little improvement in demand and activity in the eastern spruce lumber market yesterday. Sales were flat and orders were difficult to procure. Clients had little interest or motivation to buy. Finding product at current market prices was very difficult from the mills while quotes from distributors were highly competitive. Eastern Canadian mills applied an increase in the anti-dumping duty in their quotes or with the caveat of it being applicable when it goes into effect. Few were interested in taking these chances or paying higher.
