Demand and activity were steady throughout yesterday’s session of the eastern spruce lumber market. Orders came later in the day with most being generated from the reloads. Buyers were reserved though, buying only what was needed with little else. The eastern mills tried to participate but their higher asking prices, impacted by the increase in the anti-dumping duty, had buyers checking as many sources as possible before making any commitments. It was a Civic holiday in Canada yesterday keeping some traders and mills away.
