Bill's Corner- An Eastern Spruce Perspective

The eastern spruce lumber market was quieter and uneventful yesterday. Lighter demand kept traders hustling with making phone calls and sending emails in trying to obtain orders. Continued uncertainty surrounding pricing and economic conditions hindered efforts. Client inventories are believed to be low. Distributors have inventory but many key items are steadily paring down or out of stock. Rising prices are being influenced more by the increase in the anti-dumping duties rather than better demand and sales.
