Bill's Corner- An Eastern Spruce Perspective

Solid demand made for a busy Friday to end last week in the eastern spruce lumber market. Steady business kept retailers and manufacturers actively replenishing inventories. Distributors were again the ballast for the many orders transacted with the eastern mills doing their best to participate. Prices continued to rise with the influences of a higher anti-dumping duty. The eastern Canadian mills held their tact on trying to pass the additional cost to clients with some mills having success by increasing the duty incrementally.
