The eastern spruce lumber market saw lite demand and activity yesterday to start the week. The mills had few sales and were faced with soft prices in the market. Distributors were more aggressive with finding levels to trade at. Clients were apprehensive and hesitant, not wanting to buy too much. Prices have appreciated by double digits over the last several weeks. Mill supply is increasing daily, outpacing current demand. Clients see and have needs forthcoming. Supply and demand will dictate where the market goes from here, despite outside influences wanting and saying otherwise.
